How to Use an Enclosed Fiber Laser Cutter with Exchange Table
Using an enclosed fiber laser cutter with an exchange table can significantly enhance your metal cutting capabilities.

This instructional guide will walk you through the essential steps for operating the machine safely and effectively.

Safety Precautions

Before operating the fiber laser cutter, please ensure you follow these safety precautions:

  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear appropriate safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
  • Ensure Area is Clear: Keep the work area free of clutter and ensure no unauthorized personnel are present during operation.
  • Review Safety Features: Familiarize yourself with emergency stop buttons and safety interlocks.
Setup Process
  1. Power On the Machine
    • Locate the main power switch, usually located on the machine control panel.
    • Press the switch to turn on the machine and wait for the system to initialize.
  2. Load Material onto the Exchange Table
    • Open the exchange table cover carefully to access the material pallets.
    • Select the appropriate pallet for your cutting job and place the metal sheet onto it, ensuring it is flat and secured.
    • If using a multi-part table, load the materials onto the designated pallets before starting the cutting process.
  3. Select Cutting Parameters
    • Access the CypCut control system on the machine's control panel.
    • Use the interface to select the material type, thickness, and laser power settings. If unsure, refer to the cutting chart for guidance.
    • Input the desired cutting speed and other parameters as necessary
  4. Set Up the Laser Head
    • Check the Raytools laser head to ensure it is clean and properly positioned.
    • Adjust the height of the laser head if necessary, using the capacitive height control feature, ensuring it is set according to the thickness of the material being cut.
  5. Perform a Test Cut
    • Before starting the full cut, consider performing a test cut on a scrap piece of the same material to ensure settings are correct.
    • Monitor the cutting process and make any necessary adjustments
  6. Start the Cutting Process
    • Once satisfied with the test cut, load the correct program for your part using the CypCut controller.
    • Press the Start button to initiate the cutting process.
    • Monitor the operation on the display, ensuring the machine is functioning correctly.

Using the Exchange Table

  1. Swap Out Pallets
    • While the machine is cutting, you can prepare the next piece of material on a different pallet.
    • Once the cutting is complete, wait for the machine to finish before opening the exchange table cover.
  2. Exchange Tables
    • Use the fast exchange system to quickly swap out the finished pallet with a new one.
    • Ensure the new pallet is securely in place before closing the cover.

Maintenance

  1. Post-Operation Cleaning
    • After each cutting session, clean the laser head and check for any debris around the cutting area.
    • Remove any slag or residue from the table and pallets to ensure the next cut is clean and precise.
  2. Regular Checks
    • Regularly inspect all components, including the laser source, transmission systems, and cooling system.
    • Schedule maintenance checks according to the manufacturer’s recommendations to keep the machine in optimal condition.

Emergency Procedures

  • Emergency Stop
    • Familiarize yourself with the location of the emergency stop button.
    • In case of an emergency, immediately press the button to halt all operations.
